No one likes to contemplate their own death or the death of
a loved one. However, our passing is one
of the very few certainties of life.
Proper planning and preparation for this time can make the process much
easier and less troublesome for your surviving family members. Estate planning begins with a Will. In many cases there simply is not a need for
an elaborate estate plan, but we recommend that all of our clients have at a minimum
a Will and either a Durable Power of Attorney for Health Care or a Living Will
in place. The drafting of a simple will and the execution of a Durable
Power of Attorney for Health Care may be all the estate planning that is
necessary in your case. Still, having
your estate plan reviewed by a good attorney is always prudent. Our attorneys will discuss your particular
needs with you and assist you in preparing your estate in such a way as to
ensure that your property and assets pass to the persons you desire with
minimal tax consequences.
